Description

The Viso Glass Globe Chandelier branches metallic arms outward at irregular angles from a central hub — some up, others down — each tipped with a hand-blown opal orb — a three-dimensional molecular sculpture. The opal glass is neither transparent nor fully frosted — straight on the glow is clean white, from the side a faint blue-pink iridescence emerges. Choose Chrome or Gold in eight sizes from 8 to 68 lights; each E14 LED runs 2700K at CRI >90 — the warmest tone we make — included, replaceable and fully dimmable.

Dimmed to 20%, the orbs look lit by flame rather than electricity. The 68-light is one of the largest fixtures we make (216 inches, 83.8 lbs). Mounting scales: standard box for 8–10 lights, reinforced brace for 12+, mandatory joist mount for 36–68; the 48- and 68-light need scaffolding, 2+ people and 2–4 hours.

Design & Craftsmanship

Opalescent, Not Just Frosted

Opal glass transmits light with a soft, pearly depth that changes with your viewing angle — a dimension of color that clear or frosted glass can't add to warm white. As you dim, the iridescence at the orb edges becomes more pronounced, shifting from white to a soft blue-pink shimmer. The 2700K is deliberately warmer than our standard 3000K, closer to candlelight.

Where It Fits

Bedroom (8 or 10-light): a warm molecular sculpture above the bed (15.7" dia) — Gold romantic, Chrome contemporary.

Dining room (12 or 18-light): the arms extend beyond the canopy for a wider presence than the size suggests; the 2700K glow flatters food and conversation.

Staircase or foyer (24, 36 or 48-light): the 24-light drops 118 inches, the 48-light 196 inches — two-story spaces lit at every level.

Grand atrium or hotel lobby (68-light): at 216 inches, a building's signature feature — commercial orders welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is opal glass and how does it differ from frosted glass? A: Opal glass is a type of white glass that transmits light with a soft, pearly quality. Unlike frosted glass (which has a rough, granular surface), opal glass has a smooth, polished surface with an internal structure that scatters light. The key difference is that opal glass produces a subtle iridescence at certain angles — a faint blue-pink shimmer at the edges of each orb that frosted glass does not have. The effect is more refined and jewel-like.
Q: 2700K is warmer than your other chandeliers — will it look yellow? A: 2700K is the color temperature of a traditional 60W incandescent bulb — warm and golden, not yellow or orange. It is warmer than the 3000K used in most of our catalog, producing a distinctly cozy, candlelit atmosphere. If you find it too warm after installation, you can swap the E14 bulbs for 3000K or even 4000K LEDs — the E14 socket accepts any color temperature, so you can customize the warmth to your preference at a bulb cost of $2–$5 each.
Q: At 68 lights and 83.8 lbs — how does this compare to your other large chandeliers? A: It sits at the top of our range for a single sculptural globe cluster: the 68-light configuration measures 35.5 inches in diameter, drops 216 inches (18 feet), and weighs 83.8 lbs at $4,599. A few fixtures exceed it on individual measures — the Glass Bubble Ball Tree offers a higher light count, and several cascade designs drop further for three-story stairwells. For scale in a single globe fixture, this is our largest. It is designed for three-story residential foyers, hotel lobbies, high-end restaurants, and commercial atriums.
Q: Chrome or Gold — which one works better for a dining room? A: Gold adds warmth that enhances the 2700K candlelight glow — the warm metal and warm light work together to create the coziest possible dining atmosphere. Chrome adds a modern edge and reflects the opal glow with a neutral, silvery tone. For warm wood tables and earth-toned rooms: Gold. For contemporary interiors with marble, glass, or grey tones: Chrome.
Q: The 8-light version at $569 — is that accessible for a first-time buyer? A: Yes. The 8-light version at $569 is one of our most affordable multi-light chandeliers. It uses the same opal glass, the same molecular arm structure, and the same 2700K brightness-adjustable LEDs as the $4,599 68-light version — just scaled down to 15.7 inches diameter. It is an excellent entry point for bedrooms, small dining rooms, and reading nooks.
Q: Can I add more arms and orbs to a smaller version later? A: Each configuration uses a specific hub and arm assembly designed for its light count. Adding arms to an existing hub is not possible. If you outgrow the 8-light version, the next step would be purchasing the 12 or 18-light version as a replacement. We recommend choosing a size that slightly exceeds your current needs to avoid upgrading within a few years.
Q: Does this work with 220V in Europe or Australia? A: Yes. Supports 110–240V worldwide. E14 LED bulbs are universally available in all markets.
