Description

The Gregg Pendant Lamp hangs hand-blown satin white globes shaped like smooth river stones — not spheres but elongated, flattened ovals, smoothed as if by decades of water. The satin surface absorbs and re-emits light rather than reflecting it, so each globe glows with a diffused warmth — no glare, no hotspots — the light simply living in the stone. Globes come in three sizes (S/M/L) mixed per configuration, staggered for a casual asymmetry. Choose 3, 5, 7, 11, 15 or 18 pendants; each E26/E27 LED (5W, 3000K, CRI >90) is included and replaceable.

Not dimmable — the fixed output is tuned for the satin glass's even diffusion. The taller versions need high ceilings: the 11-pendant (137.8") needs a minimum 19 ft ceiling for 7 ft clearance, the 15- and 18-pendant (157.5") need 21 ft+. The 15- and 18-pendant need reinforced support.

Light That Lives in the Stone

The organic shapes feel like they grew in place rather than were installed, the default staggered heights giving a casual asymmetry that pairs with Scandinavian kitchens and Japandi dining rooms where rigid symmetry would feel forced. Because the base is the universal E26/E27, you can swap in a 2700K bulb for warmer or 4000K for brighter whenever you like.

Where It Fits

Kitchen island (3 or 5 pendants): the 3-pendant (11.8" dia) centers over a 4-ft island, the 5-pendant (15.7") spans a 5–6 ft island — hang 28–34 inches above the counter, personality without the weight of crystal or metal.

Dining room (5 or 7 pendants): center over a round table (5) or a 6-person rectangular table (7); the white-on-white pairs beautifully with light wood.

Staircase or foyer (11, 15 or 18 pendants): a vertical column of luminous pebbles, sculptural from the ground floor and an intimate constellation from the landing.

The Gregg uses an asymmetric, organic-pebble form inspired by natural river stones, where no two viewing angles produce the same silhouette. This asymmetry creates visual depth and sculptural interest that a symmetric globe cannot achieve. The frosted finish amplifies this by softening the curvature transitions into a continuous warm glow.
Q: Can I use this as a single pendant over a nightstand or bar counter? A: The 3-pendant configuration is the smallest multi-pendant version. For a single globe, you would need to use one pendant from the 3-pendant set — which is possible if your electrician caps the two unused cords inside the canopy. Alternatively, contact us to discuss a custom single-pendant option.
Q: The glass is described as "satin" — how is that different from frosted glass? A: Satin glass has a smoother, more refined matte finish than standard frosted glass. Frosted glass often has a slightly rough, granular texture. Satin glass feels silky to the touch and produces a more even, uniform glow with less visible light scatter. The difference is subtle but noticeable — satin glass looks more polished and intentional.
Q: These are not dimmable — will they be too bright for a bedroom? A: At 5W per globe, each pendant produces a soft, moderate glow — roughly equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb. The satin glass further softens the output. For a bedroom, the 3-pendant version (15W total) provides gentle ambient lighting that most people find comfortable without dimming. It is not a task-bright fixture — it is inherently ambient.
Q: E26 vs E27 — which one is in the box? A: We ship E26 bulbs as standard (the US/Canada standard). E26 and E27 are physically almost identical — E26 bulbs fit into E27 sockets and vice versa. If you are in Europe or Australia, the included E26 bulbs work in your E27 socket without any adapter.
Q: Can I mix different globe sizes on the same canopy? A: The multi-pendant configurations ship with identically sized globes for visual uniformity. However, single Small, Medium, and Large globes are available. A creative installation could combine different sizes on a custom canopy — contact us to discuss if this interests you.
