Each spine terminates in a tiny point, and the collective tips define the sphere's outer surface. When the LED at the center illuminates, light travels along the polished surface of each spine and pools at each tip as a small bright point, while the central core glows as the explosion's origin. The result is a three-dimensional starburst of reflected light — a sphere of sparkle that casts spiny shadow patterns on surrounding walls and ceiling.
