The shape is immediately familiar: a bell with the proportions of the iron ones that hung in farmhouse kitchens for centuries — but carved from premium wood, holding a warm 2700K LED where the clapper would be, casting golden light through the open base. At 5.5 inches across the shade makes a tight pool directly below each pendant rather than a broad wash — exactly what you want over a counter, a plate or a page. Choose 1 head, 3 heads on a round or rectangle mount, or 5 heads rectangle, in Light or Dark wood. Each E14 LED (3W) is included, replaceable and dimmable.

At 2700K dimmed to 15% the light softens into a warm pool, like a small lantern. The cable adjusts to 25.6 inches for 8 ft+ ceilings, and at 6.4–18.3 lbs every version mounts to a standard junction box with no reinforcement — the simplest install we make, 10–15 minutes each.

The single bell is our lowest-priced wood pendant — a real handmade wood shade with a dimmable LED, for less than many mass-produced plastic fixtures. E14 is a standard small screw base: you unscrew and swap a bulb in about fifteen seconds through the open base of the shade, no tools and no electrician.

Where It Fits

Kitchen island (3 or 5 heads, rectangle mount): the rectangle mount spaces the bells in a row — 3 heads cover a 3–4 ft island, 5 heads a 4–5 ft island, each casting focused downlight onto the countertop for food preparation.

Dining table (3 heads, round mount): the round mount clusters three bells above a 4-person table, highlighting each place setting without flooding the room.

Bedside or reading nook (1 head): hang a single bell low beside the bed for focused reading light — a rustic alternative to a nightstand lamp.

Q: At $230, this is very cheap for a handmade wood pendant — what's the catch? A: No catch. The bell is a simple, compact form (5.5 inches diameter) that requires less wood and less labor than our larger sculptural wood pendants. The material quality is the same premium wood used in our $1,586 Orb Wooden and $5,832 Elf Pendant — just in a smaller, more efficient shape. The bell's simplicity is its economic advantage.
Q: 3-Head Round vs 3-Head Rectangle — same price, same count. Which one? A: Round mount clusters the three bells in a triangular formation — best over round or square tables. Rectangle mount spaces them in a single row — best over kitchen islands and long surfaces. Same bells, same LEDs, different spatial arrangement. Choose by surface shape.
Q: Can I buy five 1-head singles instead of the 5-head rectangle ($550)? A: Five singles cost $1,150 total vs $550 for the 5-head set — more than double the price. However, five singles mount to five separate junction boxes for independent placement. The 5-head rectangle mounts to a single canopy for unified, pre-spaced arrangement. If you have five junction boxes above your island: singles give maximum flexibility. If you have one junction box: the 5-head set is dramatically more affordable and practical.
Q: The bell focuses light downward — will the rest of the room be dark? A: The bell creates a concentrated cone of bright light below and a softer, indirect glow from light reflecting off the surface beneath. For general room illumination, supplement with recessed ceiling lights, floor lamps, or wall sconces. The bell is designed as task/accent lighting, not as the sole room light source.
Q: 2700K is very warm — will it look orange? A: 2700K is the color temperature of a traditional 60W incandescent bulb — warm and golden, not orange. It produces the cozy, nostalgic glow that most people associate with "home lighting" before the LED era. If you prefer a slightly cooler tone, swap the included E14 bulbs for 3000K — the E14 socket accepts any color temperature.
Q: Is the wood treated for kitchen humidity? A: The wood is finished for standard indoor use. Normal kitchen humidity is fine — the bell is mounted above the counter, not in contact with water or steam. Avoid installing directly above a constantly boiling pot. Standard ventilated kitchen environments are safe.
